Rounded Cob Bricks
Our unique rounded cob bricks have been developed for localised cob repairs, to assist at the design stage of cob rebuilding or for cob new builds. We currently manufacture and supply two types of rounded cob brick:
BK84R is a single-rounded cob brick with an 84mm radius. These cob bricks are designed for cob rebuilding, cob repairs and cob new builds to window and door reveals. The unique 84mm radius ensures for a rounded edge to openings that will not only provide a suitable, ready-rounded surface for plaster or render, but also displays a traditional aesthetic that cob walling historically enjoys.
BK50R is a single-rounded cob brick with a 50mm radius. These cob bricks are designed for cob rebuilding, cob repairs and cob new builds to window and door reveals. The unique 50mm radius ensures for a less rounded edge to openings however these cob bricks also provide a suitable, ready-rounded surface for plaster or render.
Rounded Cob Brocks:
What is a cob brock? Our unique cob brocks have been developed to broaden the limited range of pre-formed cob products currently available for cob repairs, cob rebuilds and cob new builds. Smaller than a standard cob block yet larger than a cob brick, cob brocks (standard or rounded) give the designer flexibility at the pre-construction phase and the user [when undertaking cob repairs] more options to ensure a worthy end result.
BR84R is a single rounded cob brock with an 84mm radius. These cob brocks are designed for cob repairs, cob rebuilds and cob new builds to window and door reveals, they can also be introduced into cob repairs or cob rebuilds to corners of cob buildings.
BR50R is a single rounded cob brock with a 50mm radius and is used in the same way as the BR84R, however the radius is less.
All of our cob products are manufactured from 100% natural materials, making them one of the most sustainable building mediums available today. Here’s a few reasons why…
Non-fired – Dried naturally, our cob products do not require any embodied energy systems for drying and hardening.
Natural ingredients – Barley straw, clayey soil and water. No limes, hardeners or additives.
Zero waste – Any cob products that do not meet our market exacting standards are recycled into further batches of product.
Cost saving – All of our cob product range maintain a uniformity and continuity of size enabling reduced thicknesses of mortar beds and plaster/render applications.
