Traditionally, monolithic cob construction demonstrates ‘solid walling’ building techniques. Typically, 2′ thick at low-level and more often than not tapering toward the [internal] eaves at the final 2′ of wall. Here at Earth Blocks Ltd we are entering into a new era of cob wall construction with our unrivalled manufacturing processes and unique range of cob products. Since the (relative) widespread use of pre-formed cob blocks came about, these units were/are always introduced on their ‘flat’, however, the accuracy and consistency of our cob products now recognises cob block installations on their ‘edge’ and are constructed in the exact same manner to those of the concrete kind. Of course, hand-in-hand with cavity walling comes insulation and the obvious benefits to any cavity wall this brings.
